Crois Bhríde / Saint Brigids Cross (Imbolc)

Imbolc begins on the 1st day of February, also St. Brigids Day. This cross is traditionally known as a symbol of protection for the home, and was meant to be hug above the door to bring peace and harmony.

The distinctive St. Brigid's Cross design, made from woven rushes, is thought to keep evil, fire and hunger from the homes in which it is displayed.
