Bandia na Talún / Goddess of the Land

Éiru is the ancient sovereignty goddess from whom Éire (Ireland) takes is name.  She embodies the lands as a living presence,  not owned,  but energetic into a relationship with.  

In early Irish beliefs,  true authority arose from harmony between people and place. 

This piece honours Éiru as the enduring spirit of Ireland; type,  watchful and alive beneath our feet. 

Hand stitched báinín 100% cotton and gold coloured thread on black aida, cream mount, in a black 13" x 12" (34cm x 31cm)  wooden frame for wall mounting.
