The Kilnaruane Stone Pillar

Standing since the 6th Century, the Kilnaruane Pillar Stone rises over 2 metres tall just South West of Bantry, West Cork, on the site of an early Christian monastic enclosure founded by St. Brendan. Richly carved on both faces.

The Greek Cross is on the third panel sits on the South-East face of the pillar. It is the style of cross of the early Christians and represents the introduction of the converted to Christianity.

Hand stitched báinín 100% cotton on black aida, cream mount, in a black 9.5" x 9.5" (24cm x 24cm)  wooden frame for wall mounting.
