The Kilnaruane Stone Pillar

Standing since the 6th Century, the Kilnaruane Pillar Stone rises over 2 metres tall just South West of Bantry, West Cork, on the site of an early Christian monastic enclosure founded by St. Brendan. Richly carved on both faces.

The Celtic Weave sits on the top of the South-East face of the pillar. It represents both the symbol of the supreme sun-god of the ancient civilisation and the sign of christianity. 

Hand stitched báinín 100% cotton on black aida, cream mount, in a black 9.5" x 7.5" (24cm x 19cm)  wooden frame for wall mounting.
