Threads of Tara (Original)

Threads of Tara is a hand stitched piece inspired by memories of Irish dancing and the traditions carried through generations.  As a Irish dancer, the Tara Brooch was worn on my uniform as a symbol of pride,  heritage and connection.  It also served the purpose of anchoring my shawl to the kilt.  

Drawing on the intricate design of my Tara Brooch this piece stitches together personal memories and timeless tradition as a tribute to the rhythm, craftsmanship and spirit of Ireland.

Hand stitched báinín 100% cotton on black aida, cream mount, in a black approx. 18.5" x 18.5"  square wooden frame for wall mounting.
